He Danced For Her

He walked alone so many years,
upon the earth with inner tears,
He longed to dance with shield and spear.
but lacked a song upon his ears.
A fluted song his hearing yearned,
and in his heart a fire burned,
To touch her soul a dance he learned,
from ancient ones the steps he earned.
By the cedars he saw her there,
with spirit beauty and long raven hair,
from her heart her song she shared,
the fluted one she sang with care.
Within the sun he danced for her,
not one step or move unsure,
Within the moon she played her song,
and touched they both for which they longed.
